160 acres of mountainside sold in one of Metro Vancouver's largest deals of 2026

A major land transaction has been completed on the southeast side of Burke Mountain in Coquitlam, involving approximately 160 acres across four separate parcels.
Macdonald Realty’s Lori Rowe announced today that the properties at 0 Quarry Rd., 4201 Quarry Rd., 4250 Quarry Rd., and 4301 Quarry Rd. have been sold for a combined final sale price of about $14.47 million.
These vacant, wooded properties at Burke Mountain are deemed to be a major long-term growth area in northeast Coquitlam.
The area to the west of the properties has seen significant single-family detached, townhouse, and low-rise residential development in recent years, with continued planning and infrastructure work intended to support more housing and community growth over time.
“Transactions of this size require patience, strategic marketing, strong relationships and an in-depth understanding of the market,” said Rowe.
“I am honoured to have represented this exceptional property and to have successfully completed the sale during a challenging real estate market. It demonstrates that outstanding land opportunities continue to generate strong interest when properly positioned.”
The transaction represents a sizeable land deal in Metro Vancouver at a time when large land sales have slowed due to higher borrowing costs, economic uncertainty, and more cautious investment activity.
But the completion of this Burke Mountain sale suggests large strategic land holdings can still draw buyer interest when they are viewed as having long-term value.
