President Obama: The Real Work Begins....

Dec 19 2017, 11:42 am

Well tonight we will know (hopefully) if Barack Obama will become President of the United States of America. The excitement and anxiety is building. Being a Canadian I’ve never felt like this during our elections and find it somewhat strange. I’ll be glued to CNN tonight watching the coverage.

I wasn’t born when Kennedy delivered his infamous speech, or when Martin Luther King delivered his famous speech. For this generation Obama has done something that no one has done in a long time, energize the youth. Folks, a person of this caliber only comes along once in a while and I am sure glad that I was able to witness this historic election. It will be sad to see this election end as it has been entertaining and informative.

If elected Obama has a tough road ahead of him. The economy is a complete mess, joblessness is up, home prices are plummeting and consumer confidence is at its lowest levels in years. Secondly, the last 8 years of Bush have divided the U.S. into these blue and red states. The hatred will have to be dealt with and Americans must unite to get out of this slump that they are in. If anyone can do it, he can. Change is definitely in the air, and the Democrats have finally figured out that the road to the White House is through West.

Also on this road to progress The Republicans have finally been called out for what they really are, fear mongerers and dividers. Lets face it the “real Americans” that is the Republican base will be in a shock of a life time. Lets just hope they see the ray of hope that beckons upon them.
