Reports are flooding Twitter that a possible shooting has occurred in Burnaby, although there has been no confirmation from the city or the Burnaby RCMP.
There’s a heavy police presence at Esmond and Frances but they seem to be keeping mum on what happened. The Burnaby Fire Department and ambulances are also on scene. A witness said the shooting was targeted towards his basement suite tenant.
CKNW spoke to a neighbour in the area, Laurie Staples.
“So apparently someone heard a girl scream, and some guy swearing, and then a few shots. And they’ve got the streets blocked from Union and Frances to Georgia Street near Boundary – all the way to Boundary. And no one is allowed to leave their homes. Looks like some activity going on but we’re not really sure,” she said.
