Population Shift Responsible for Declining School Enrollment

These past couple of days the media, all over North America, has been speaking of a decline in school enrollment. However, they never speak of why this is occurring. It’s really simple, actually.

Generation Y, the kids of the Baby Boomer generation, have grown up, graduated high school and college, and are now young (married) couples. They’re now all producing children. It is quite evident even in this generation’s celebrities. Britney Spears, Angelina Jolie, Halle Berry, Jessica Alba, Matthew McConaughey, Christina Aguilera, Nicole Richie, Gwen Stefani, Tiger Woods, Heidi Klum, Jennifer Garner, Donald Trump?… the list goes on and on.

With these children barely just entering pre-school, it will take a few years before we start seeing an increase in the rate of school enrollment.
