$483 ticket for motorcyclist going 176 km/hr who passed police car

Delta Police served a stern warning to drivers after stopping and ticketing a motorcyclist who was caught going at dangerously high speeds on Highway 99.

On Twitter, the Delta Police Traffic Unit said the driver was going 176 km/hr and “claimed to be unaware of his speed” when stopped.

“Not sure about that, but he was definitely unaware that he passed a police car. $483 ticket may-or may not-enlighten him. When his insurance goes up he’ll get another reminder.”

Delta Police added that three “excessive speeders” have been pulled over today.

“Just because the roads are actually dry isn’t a good excuse to go nuts out there,” said police.

“And have laser units to measure speed of vehicles up ahead….or behind.”
