A 28-year-old man is dead after he was shot early Sunday morning in the South Vancouver area, according to police.
In an email statement, the Vancouver Police Department said the shooting happened near Fraser Street and Southeast Marine Drive at 1:30 am.
“Patrol officers performed CPR on the victim until paramedics arrived, but he died from his injuries,” police confirmed.
VPD said investigators believe it was a targeted incident related to the ongoing gang conflict.
Photos of the scene show police have taped off the area near Vancouver’s Fraserview Hall.
Police said the investigation is ongoing.
