The PNE is opening soon and it's hiring for over 1,000 summer jobs
If you’ve always liked the idea of working that quintessential summer job at a theme park, operating rides or selling cotton candy, you’re in luck because the PNE Fair is hiring for its 2025 season.
On its website, the PNE says it’s looking for over 1,000 “enthusiastic and dynamic employees to work in a wide variety of departments” for this year’s PNE Fair, which runs from Aug. 16 to Sept. 1.
It also provided further details, noting that base wages start at $18.01/hour. There’s 5 per cent additional pay in lieu of vacation and other benefits, resulting in a total of $18.91/hour.

The gig also comes with some solid perks, like employee discounts on all PNE food stands and passes to the Fair, as well as gift card rewards and free access to the Fair at all times.
Here are the positions the PNE Fair is hiring for:
- Agriculture – farm hands, cashiers and hosts
- Food and beverage – bartenders (19+), concessions attendants, catering cooks, candy attendants, stockpersons (valid Class 5 or 7 driver’s licences required), dishwashers, Playland grill cooks and bussers
- Games – attendants and warehouse attendants
- Gaming – Prize home host, onsite lottery vendors, lottery call centre clerks, onsite lottery clerks, casino wheel dealers, casino wheel clerks
- Public safety and parking – Day and night ambassadors, parking attendants, parking ticket sellers
- Playland maintenance – Ground maintenance attendants
- Guest experience – Guest experience attendants
- Finance – Finance cashiers
- Ticket Leader – Ticketing attendants
- PNE Facilities Maintenance – Washroom facility attendants, grounds clean-up staff (daytime and evenings)
If you’re interested in applying, note that many positions have age requirements, so be sure to check out the detailed listings before submitting your resume.
Applicants must also be available for up to full-time hours (40 hours per week), including evenings, weekends, and late nights, for the duration of the PNE Fair.
Training and orientation are scheduled for the first two weeks of August, depending on the department and position.
