A popular Vancouver street festival is returning to Mount Pleasant this summer, and organizers are heating things up in its second year.
Pleasant Day Festival is taking over a huge stretch of Main Street for a jam-packed community celebration on Saturday, Aug. 8.
The family-friendly event is presented by the Mount Pleasant Business Improvement Area (MPBIA) and will feature interactive activities, chill zones, and four stages of great live music.

“The Mount Pleasant BIA is looking forward to bringing Pleasant Day Festival back for its second year and continuing to build it into an annual event,” said the MPBIA in a release. “Street festivals like Pleasant Day play an important role in bringing our communities together by creating opportunities for people to connect, support local businesses, enjoy local music and culture, and spend time together in a shared public space.
“As community festivals become increasingly challenging to organize and fund, we’re especially excited and grateful to be able to bring this event back and create a free, welcoming day for folks all over the City to come and enjoy.”
The huge Vancouver festival will take place from noon to 8 p.m. and stretch along Main Street from 16th Avenue to King Edward.
