One of the best things about summer in Vancouver is the abundance of awesome street festivals, and a new one is being planned for Mount Pleasant that you won’t want to miss.

Pleasant Day Festival is taking over a huge stretch of Main Street for a vibrant community celebration full of dining, shopping, interactive activities and live music.

The family-friendly event on Saturday, Aug. 9 is presented by the Mount Pleasant Business Improvement Area (MPBIA), which said that the event will showcase the culture and businesses that make the neighbourhood unique.

“The festival highlights the local businesses, artists, and entrepreneurs that shape the character of this vibrant neighbourhood,” said the association on the event’s website. “The MPBIA is dedicated to fostering a thriving, inclusive, and creative community by supporting local businesses, enhancing public spaces, and hosting events that bring people together.”

Pleasant Day Festival will take place from 12 to 8 p.m. and stretch along Main Street from 16th Avenue to King Edward.
