Jul 16 2020, 10:44 pm

Bring the taste of the Okanagan home. With just 4 natural ingredients, our 1516 has everything you need and nothing you don’t.

Physically distant picnics are replacing intimate dinner parties this year, and we can’t think of a better way to spend a summer day than by eating delicious eats in one of Vancouver’s stunning parks.

To make planning, packing, and devouring drool-worthy eats much easier, many Vancouver restaurants have created special gourmet picnic packs for folks to snatch up and enjoy in the great outdoors.

Here are five places to grab ready-made gourmet picnics in Vancouver.

Dachi’s picnic packs are the real deal, people. Each kit is filled with quality goodies from the restaurant’s top suppliers and farms. Expect fresh veggies, dips, cheeses, meats, and even seafood like smoked sablefish, to name a few. You can easily grab a bottle of wine here as well and make it a fully balanced meal. One of our favourite local taco joints, Chancho Tortilleria, has created picnic kits that can turn any casual hang into a delicious, lively fiesta. Folks can choose between four kinds of carnitas (pork shoulder/leg, pork belly, potato, or veggie) for their packs. All combos come with fresh corn tortillas, chips and guac, salsas and black beans, and the choice of either margarita or Michelada kits. You can order the kits seven days a week from noon to 8 pm. Order in person or via phone.

The ‚ÄúJuke Box‚ÄĚ will forever be one of our favourite year-round picnic choices, but during the summer season, it just hits different. The box comes with two pieces of fried chicken, a quarter slab of ribs, and the customer‚Äôs choice of side (we‚Äôd suggest the corn chicken fritters, just sayin‚Äô). You can also order cocktail mixes from Juke, so all you need to bring with you is booze and you‚Äôre set.
