One of our favourite local taco joints, Chancho Tortilleria, has created picnic kits that can turn any casual hang into a delicious, lively fiesta. Folks can choose between four kinds of carnitas (pork shoulder/leg, pork belly, potato, or veggie) for their packs. All combos come with fresh corn tortillas, chips and guac, salsas and black beans, and the choice of either margarita or Michelada kits. You can order the kits seven days a week from noon to 8 pm. The “Juke Box” will forever be one of our favourite year-round picnic choices, but during the summer season, it just hits different. The box comes with two pieces of fried chicken, a quarter slab of ribs, and the customer’s choice of side (we’d suggest the corn chicken fritters, just sayin’). You can also order cocktail mixes from Juke, so all you need to bring with you is booze and you’re set.
