Photos of Metro Vancouver's February snowfall

Dec 19 2017, 5:47 pm

By this evening, and depending on elevation and location, between 10 to 30 centimetres of snow would have fallen across Metro Vancouver since Saturday.

The rare February snowfall isn’t unprecedented. On February 12, 2011, a snowstorm hit the city on the same night tens of thousands of revellers gathered in downtown Vancouver to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the Vancouver 2010 Olympics.

According to Environment Canada, between 5 to 15 centimetres of snow will fall in Metro Vancouver by evening before it transitions into wet snow and rain.
