Persepolis Restaurant: New Management

Dec 19 2017, 1:50 pm

Persepolis Persian Restaurant located in the heart of Lonsdale has yet again changed management. However, this time it’s for the better. Mike who met his wife at Persepolis decided to buy the restaurant solely for sentimental purposes. He stated his mission was to evoke the appropriate changes needed to watch the restaurant where he met his wife flourish.

Apart from the management changes, significant alterations have also been made to the front of house and kitchen staff.

Due to previous experiences at Persepolis, I was quite hesitant about trying the new Re-Launch. However, I was pleasantly surprised with the restaurant alterations (especially the food).  I can now confidently state that this restaurant has one of the best Persian food on the Lower Mainland. In fact, I prefer it over Yaas, Cazba and Zeitoon Persian Restaurants. I know many of you may disagree with me– but you may just have to try it out for yourself.

One unique thing about Persepolis Restaurant is the complimentary Mirza -Ghassemi (smoked eggplant dip) that each table is provided with upon arrival. Much more generous than the typical bread basked and butter—don’t you think?

I ordered the Chicken & Beef Tenderloin Kabob combo and was extremely impressed. The meat was not only fresh but also melt-in-your-mouth tender. The Basmati rice was perfectly brushed with butter and the Shirazi Salad (diced tomatoes, cucumbers & red onions) was tangy and refreshing.

What sets Persepolis apart from the surrounding Persian restaurants is its cozy ambiance and live band (with belly dancing appearances) on the weekends.
I hope you will all give this place a second chance. Hey, restaurants are people too!
