Watch adorable penguins explore the Vancouver Aquarium (VIDEOS)

While humans have been cooped up in their homes during the COVID-19 pandemic, the penguins at the Vancouver Aquarium have been set free to explore.
In a video posted to social media last week, the Vancouver Aquarium explained that a “silver lining” of its closure is that some of the animals are getting the chance to explore the galleries with their caretakers.
One silver lining of our closure last week is that some of our animals and their dedicated care staff are getting extra time to explore our galleries together (thanks to our friends at Shedd for sharing the idea.)šš§ pic.twitter.com/hyxKp98NZL

The Vancouver Aquarium said the idea came after Chicago’s Shedd Aquarium posted footage of its penguins taking a “field trip” around the facility.
The adventure continues! š§š§
This morning, Edward and Annie explored Sheddās rotunda. They are a bonded pair of rockhopper penguins, which means they are together for nesting season. Springtime is nesting season for penguins at Shedd, and this year is no different! (1/3) š pic.twitter.com/VdxN3oQAfeā Shedd Aquarium (@shedd_aquarium) March 16, 2020
On Twitter, the Vancouver Aquarium added that it had been a “challenging week” for staff since announcing its closure and layoffs earlier this month.
“We’ve really missed exploring our oceans with you and are continuing to look for ways to stay connected during this unprecedented period.”
