70-year-old pedestrian rushed to hospital after early morning collision

A 70-year-old Vancouver man is in the hospital after an early morning collision in Vancouver.

Sergeant Aaron Roed, media relations officer with the Vancouver Police Department (VPD), says in an email that the incident took place in the area of Broadway Street and Cambie Street.

Roed says that collision took place just before 1 am.

The pedestrian was reportedly taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

It’s not known whether speed, weather, substance use, or distracted driving were factors in the collision, although an investigation is currently underway.

Police say that the driver of the vehicle is cooperating with police.
