The other pedestrian, a 60-year-old man had only minor injuries and was released from hospital.

Police say speed and driver error aren’t thought to be factors, and that both men were running across Hastings Street when they were struck.

The Vancouver Police Department says they’re continuing to investigate the city’s 13th traffic related death this year. Nine of those deaths have been pedestrians.
