Santa Paws is comin’ to town!

PawSwap has announced its 12 Days of Dog: Advent Calendar, which is filled with fun gifts for your furry friend to encourage shopping local.

The advent calendar is available now and includes 12 miniature doggy products that any pup would love, including treats, grooming products, toys and more.

All of the products are sourced from some of PawSwap’s favourite local businesses. They hope that by highlighting these companies and their products, consumers will be encouraged to choose local when buying gifts for the holidays this year.

“It’s more important than ever this holiday season to bring awareness to supporting local companies while gift shopping,” said Carly Geill, Marketing Manager at PawSwap, in a release.

“So many of these companies and stores will be relying on the community to help them make it through these tricky times. With the community of dog owners being so strong, we thought this was a perfect way to encourage shopping locally for your pup as well.”

Dog owners can learn more about the companies behind the products by scanning a QR code that can be found on the top of their box.

Customers can also help local dogs in need by donating $3 for a Spot Dog Blanket, or $6 for an Unleashed Dog Bed, which will be provided and partially donated by Anipet Animal Supplies.

The PawSwap team will then hand out the donated dog blankets and dog beds on the Downtown Eastside, and the additional items will be donated to the BC SPCA’s Charlie’s Pet Food Bank.

“At PawSwap we are always looking for ways to take normal ‘human activities’ and make them inclusive of our four-legged friends, which is why we wanted to create this super cute advent calendar for owners and their dogs to enjoy,” said Geill.

If you are interested in purchasing a doggy advent calendar, you can do so now online. The calendar can also be picked up at three local shops: Spoiled Paws in Downtown Vancouver, Amore Pet Foods in Burnaby, and Paw Street Market in Langley.
