RCMP issue warning over patient missing from Forensic Psychiatric Hospital

The RCMP has issued a warning about a patient who is missing from a local psychiatric hospital.

Christopher Thomas Joseph Askey was reported missing on 10 pm Wednesday night after failing to return to the Forensic Psychiatric Hospital at 70 Colony Farm Road, Coquitlam.

Askey was out on a day pass.

Cpl. Michael McLaughlin said in a statement that the patient “may behave in a way that presents a risk to themselves or the public.”

The 50-year-old is described as having black hair, light beard and brown eyes. He stands 6′ tall and was last seen wearing a black jacket, grey sweat pants, a black shirt, white shoes and a dark toque.

Anyone who sees Askey is asked to call 911 immediately.
