Dec 11 2019, 10:54 pm

The holiday season is upon us, and with that comes the stress of roasting turkey, visiting in-laws, and finding an epic venue for New Year’s Eve. If you’re yet to make plans this holiday season, why not take the pressure off hosting and attend one of these fancy festive food events instead?

Whether it’s a setting for Christmas brunch, ordering a fancy turkey to-go, or an event to ring in the new decade for New Year’s Eve, there’s nothing that says upscale holiday event more than Parq Vancouver.

Don’t want to cook this Christmas? We hear you. With the JW Marriott Executive Chef behind the cooking, we couldn’t think of a way to spoil yourself more. You worked hard this year, you deserve it.

JW Marriott’s Festive Turkey To-Go provides a feast fit for seven to ten people, including slow-roasted turkey breasts and legs (and stuffing of course). Hallelujah, no more basting and checking (and basting again). For sides, you’ll get a holiday chopped salad, German potato salad, winter root vegetables, and Yukon mashed potatoes. Looking to go all out? Guests can also add-on ham or braised beef for an extra charge. And yes, you’ll also get dessert.

The Victor Christmas Eve Dinner

Don’t have plans for Christmas Eve dinner yet? Why not pass the apron to epic steakhouse The Victor this year? With only the best of the best ingredients,  the three-course menu includes foie gras from Quebec, free-range turkey, and you guessed it — prime rib. We can’t think of a more incredible meal than Christmas dinner in a steakhouse, especially The Victor.

Did someone say “Christmas cocktail cart”? Come back for dinner from 5 pm to 9 pm and fill up on classics like turkey, chestnut bread, yams, fresh salads, and all the desserts. Guests will also get to pick cocktails like eggnog and mulled wine from their Christmas cocktail cart! We’re in.

Ready to ring in a new decade? This is a big deal, people. And where better to do it than Honey Salt, a prime downtown location for delicious eats? Guests can sit down to a $100 three-course menu with Hokkaido Scallop & Risotto, Snake River Farm Beef Carpaccio, Ora King Salmon, Blue Dot Beef Tenderloin, and Valrhona Chocolate Mousse.

And it wouldn’t be NYE without great music. Alongside the gourmet feast, there will be live music from 7 to 10 pm and a DJ in the lounge from 10 pm to 1 am. Get on your dancing shoes!

If you can’t make it to The Victor for Christmas Eve, consider their New Year’s Eve food event. You’ll have the option of two incredible set menus like the $150 land-and-sea-inspired menu or the $125 vegetarian menu. To top it off, you’ll get to sit in on a jazz saxophone performance by none other than contemporary artist Karla Sax.

NYE at D6/Parq Vancouver

Looking to celebrate the new year with the best seafood Vancouver has to offer? The beautiful D/6 Bar & Lounge will be hosting a New Year’s Eve dinner from The Victor, followed by an epic Carnival Countdown.

A Taste of The Victor at D/6 is from 7 pm to 9:30 pm and includes a set menu including foie gras milk bread, poached prawns, oysters, clams, ceviche, sushi, tuna poke, and your choice of desserts. Fast forward to the Carnival Countdown at 10:30 pm, where guests will find live entertainment, dancers, a countdown clock, and a complimentary welcome cocktail.

Tickets to each event are separate, but we think the two paired together could just be the ultimate way to celebrate such a special NYE.

Looking for something a little more low key? You could be entering the new year at Lotus Whiskey / Tea Lounge watching Dueling Pianos, where two grand pianos play top 40 tunes alongside the raw vocals of special guest, Sadie Campbell. Throw in some artisanal cocktails and you’ve got a recipe for a night to remember. The event is on from 9 am to 2 am.

Held from 10 am to 2 pm, guests will start the decade off right with not only traditional brunch, but also sushi and selections from the Raw Bar. To sweeten the deal, there’s even a complimentary candy table, plus a build-your-own Caesar-bar and Mule Cart. Cheers to that!

While you’re at Parq, don’t miss out on the opportunity to see their giving gallery. For the first year, to raise funds for local charities, the gallery is showcasing ten uniquely designed wreaths from November 28 to January 2, that Parq has collaborated with local partners to make.

The entire building is decked out in holiday glitz, meaning your trip to Parq will be full of Instagrammable opportunities, no matter when you choose to visit.
