Pacific Poke to bring build-your-own poke bowls to Chinatown

Pacific Poke, a quick-service eatery dedicated to serving creative and delicious poke bowls is gearing up to open in Chinatown in September.

Poke, the Hawaiian staple pronounced “poh-kay,” consists of sliced raw fish and other chopped ingredients and will be, as the name suggests, the main attraction at this casual 1200 square foot space when it opens.

While Pacific Poke (located at 625 Main Street) will offer inside seating for 20, Executive Chef Ryan Mah, says that the restaurant will be more of a to-go type spot.

Mah also hints that the eatery, which will be open for lunch and dinner, will feature a Chipotle-style setup. At the counter patrons will be able to choose their preferred starch, protein, topping, and sauce.

While “build-your-own” poke bowls will be available a range of unique chef-inspired creations will also be up for grabs.

Poke is one of 2016’s rising food trends; restaurants in L.A. and New York specialize in poke, and several Vancouver spots feature the dish on their menu.
