Onlookers at Whytecliff Park in West Vancouver were treated to a special show from Mother Nature this week when a group of orcas swam by them in the waters below.

The moment was captured by Sarah Boland, who shared a video of the encounter on Instagram.

“I am always looking for whales anytime I’m near the ocean, and tonight this happened,” she states in the post. “In the ten years I’ve been in Vancouver, I’ve seen one orca from the shore.”

Making the moment even more incredible was the fact that the orcas were seen in a close encounter with a kayaker who was in the water at the same time.

Boland couldn’t contain her excitement in her video, and she apologized for screaming in excitement at what she saw.

“Sorry for the screaming,” she states in the post.
