A suspect charged in connection with a violent sexual assault inside a tent in Oppenheimer Park was located last week after failing to return to her halfway house on July 20.

According to the Vancouver Police Department, Nicole Edwards was located and arrested again on August 7.

In April, Edwards and Jason Tapp allegedly directed a woman into a tent at gunpoint where she was held against her will for more than 15 hours while being sexually assaulted and beaten with a weapon. The woman eventually escaped, according to the VPD.

Tapp and Edwards are facing 15 counts related to sexual assault, assault, and confinement over the incident.

This is the second time since the crime that Edwards has been re-arrested.
