This is the Swiss Chocolatier’s 44th Canadian retail shop is officially open. The 1,800 sq. ft. retail space on the ground floor of the Vancouver Exchange Tower features a cafe boasting a menu of offerings such as chocolate truffles, chocolate bars, Lindor Truffles, along with a chocolate drinks bar, and premium chocolate bars that can be wrapped up for the holidays.

Resurrection Distillery & Tasting Room

Resurrection will be producing, distributing, and pouring its spirits in its 3,700 sq. ft. tasting room and distillery in East Van, in a space with an upper area that will eventually be used for private parties and events. Patrons here can expect an emphasis on liquor made with organic rye grain grown right here in BC at a farm in Chilliwack, Anita’s Organic Mill. There will be plenty of gin and whiskey up for order, and eventually you can look forward to spirits infused with Okanagan fruits. Currently this spot is operating for their soft launch, with their grand opening date to be announced soon.

The Black Lodge – Broadway

The Black Lodge has officially opened their second location at 317 East Broadway. The 1,600 sq. ft. 65-seat Twin Peaks-themed restaurant and bar will now be serving their signature vegetarian eats and 10 brand new cocktails just a 15-minute drive down the road from the original location at 630 Kingsway.

La Cantina – Vancouver

Whistler’s La Cantina taco bar is opened up their a downtown Van location at the end of October. La Cantina now operates in the former space of the Nelson Grocery Store at 755 Nelson (at Granville).

Ramenman (Seymour and Davie)

Ramenman’s second location opened on Bidwell Street earlier this fall. This spot is currently open from Monday to Friday during lunch service until 3 pm or 50 servings are all gone – whichever comes first. This address was formerly Ramenman’s sister restaurant, Juno Vancouver Sushi Bistro, and it has now become the second spot for the ramen purveyor.

Cacao 70 Sweet House

Cacao 70’s first ever Dippery location opened in September, and now it’s time for the Quebec-based franchise’s Sweet House concept in North Vancouver to take the spotlight. The new Sweet House eatery, located at 143 Chadwick Court in North Vancouver (in Lonsdale Quay), opened at the end of October.

East Van’s newest brewery is just days away from opening. These guys have been teasing us for months of their social channels, and they’ve promised fine craft beers made with products from local producers such as EastVan Bees.

Reflections

You’re going to be drinking in a winter wonderland in downtown Vancouver sooner than you expected, as Reflections Winter Patio at Rosewood Hotel Georgia is slated to open on November 16. Expect garlands, twinkle lights, throw blankets, hot toddies, and tasty tapas at this festive holiday spot.

Local Public Eatery

It was back in June when we first received word of Chill Winston shutting its doors after 11 years of service. The Gastown haunt had been serving cocktails and bites at its prime location of 3 Alexander Street since 2006, but it will become Local Public Eatery at the end of November 2017.

CaliBurger – Burnaby and Surrey

Fast food and casual chain haven CaliBurger is about to triple its size in BC by adding two new Metro Vancouver locations. The first will be opening at Simon Fraser University at 8901 Cornerstone Mews in Burnaby. This spot is slated to open later this fall. The second new Metro Vancouver location will be in Surrey at 10330 152 Street, and it’s set to open sometime during the upcoming winter season.

Rosemary Rocksalt Richmond and Surrey

Rosemary Rocksalt is opening not one but two new locations in Richmond (8050-11688 Steveston Highway) and Surrey (110- 16030 24th Avenue). The 16-seat, 1,600 sq. ft. Richmond location, located in the Ironwood Plaza, is set to open the first week of November, while the 1,300 sq. ft. Grandview Corners location in Surrey is slated for a January opening.
