2 more dead as Ontario confirms 211 new known coronavirus cases

The Province of Ontario has confirmed 211 new known cases of COVID-19, bringing the province’s total up to 1,355.

Two more patients have died from the illness,  according to the province’s most recent update.

A total of 21 people have died from COVID-19 in the province, eight people have recovered.

On Saturday night, the province introduced a new order, banning gatherings of more than five people effective immediately.

According to the province, stronger action was required to stop the spread of COVID-19, and to protect the health and well-being of all Ontarians.

The province’s new ban is based advice from Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, and the new emergency order is under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act.
