OneCity Vancouver is entering the 2026 mayoral race and has slammed the ABC party in its public announcement.
The 2026 Vancouver mayoral race has been heating up in recent weeks and months, with many parties, some brand new, planning to run candidates.
That now includes OneCity, which made its announcement earlier today, saying, “OneCity is running for Mayor in 2026!”
“We’re officially launching our open Mayoral nomination contest and giving *you* a voice in who should lead our city,” the Instagram post says.

The civic party also had some strong words of condemnation against ABC Vancouver.
The post from OneCity asks its followers several questions, including whether or not the city will build affordable housing in every neighbourhood, “or leave renters behind?”
“Will we value city workers and pay them fairly, or capitulate to ABC’s brutal budget cuts?”
The announcement adds, “It’s clear our neighbours are demanding change. We’re honoured that you’ve chosen OneCity to be leaders in that movement.”
While comments from followers celebrate more democratic choices, some fear that with more options, a lack of a unified opposition could backfire.
A OneCity follower commented, “Please coordinate campaigns with COPE and the Greens! We need a unified left!”
Some of the other potential candidates and parties running in 2026 include Pete Fry, who was endorsed by the Green Party, Vancouver Mayor Ken Sim’s former chief of staff Kareem Allam with the Vancouver Liberals, and former ABC councillor Rebecca Bligh. COPE Vancouver will likely run a candidate, though nothing official has been announced.
ABC Vancouver has faced public criticism in recent weeks due to potential cuts to service and infrastructure funding after Sim announced a 0 per cent property tax increase last month.

Do you agree with some of the comments online calling for a unified opposition?
