One of Canada’s tallest Christmas trees is being lit this weekend, and it’s happening just an hour away from Vancouver.

The Highstreet Holiday Show in Abbotsford starts Friday at 5 pm.

Rivalling that of the tree at New York City’s Rockefeller Centre, the 65-foot superstructure is just one piece of the Highstreet Holiday show in Abbotsford. The holiday event also includes a 30-minute live show, and a multi-media light display which uses over 6,000 LED bulbs, set to your holiday favourites.

An oversized mailbox will also be available for kids to drop off their letters to Santa and for every letter collected, Highstreet will donate a can of food to the Food Bank.

Five holiday shows will run every Saturday starting at 5 pm until December 15th and will also feature the arrival of Santa, Rudolph, Frosty the Snowman, and Spandy Andy the Dancing Elf.

Greg Neufeld, a Canadian Idol finalist and BC local, will also be performing during the kickoff event.
