Olympic Fever Hits Richmond

Dec 19 2017, 11:39 am

As Beijing’s Olympic Summer Games are about to begin with a bang tomorrow, there will be a mini-celebration in the suburb of Richmond. The party will kick off at 5 AM at the Aberdeen Centre, so those heading to work will still be able to enjoy the festivities.

What to expect at this event? Well there will be a free breakfast, face-painting, street entertainment, prize draws, and a fashion
show showcasing Canadian Olympic wear. In addition there will be a 28-foot screen so those in attendance will be able to enjoy the opening ceremonies in style. Also in attendance will be former Olympians and Miga, Quatchi, and Sumi, the mascots for Vancouver’s 2010 Winter Games.
Make sure to come to this event, which will be a small preview of the parties that will happen in 2010. As a little enticement, the Suburban Don will be in attendance, so come by and say hi or just ask for an autograph.
