A private Catholic school in Vancouver is reportedly moving to online-only learning for a couple of weeks after a COVID-19 exposure left it unable to properly staff its classes.

According to a letter to parents posted by the Facebook page BC School Covid Tracker, Our Lady of Perpetual Help in West Point Grey is temporarily suspending in-person learning from December 8 to December 18.

Daily Hive has reached out to the school for comment, but has not yet confirmed the authenticity of the letter.

“Due to the severe staffing restraints we are currently experiencing, we are unable to adequately staff the school at a level which is deemed safe, abides by our School Safety Plan, and provides our students with the high quality educational experience they deserve,” the letter reads.

Vancouver Coastal Health has posted a COVID-19 exposure alert for the school for November 26, 27, and 30. It’s not known how many individuals from the school have tested positive.
