Get ready for some serious eight-wheeled fun.

This November, Rollerskate Vancouver and Rolla Skate Club will be hosting their last event of the season, taking over the space of North Vancouver’s recently completed Shipyards.

The two organizations will be throwing a Halloween roller skating party at the Shipyards’ 12,000 sq. ft. event space. The outdoor plaza was completed earlier this summer with the intention of doubling as a covered, outdoor skating rink in the winter months.

The massive space (which is the region’s largest ice rink), also helps accommodate the rising number of attendees they’ve been seeing.

“Our event attendance has been increasing steadily throughout the year, so this huge new venue is perfect for us,” says Andrea Fraser-Winsby, the event organizer in a release. “Affordable, accessible venues are few and far between in this city, so Lower Mainland roller skaters are so thankful to be able to do what we love in this beautiful space.”

The Halloween roller skating party takes place on Friday, November 1 and will have two shifts, an early skate from 5 to 7 pm and a later skate that runs from 7:30 to 10 pm. Both shifts are open to all ages.

Admission to the event is $15 for adults. Skate rentals will also be available on-site ($2 for the early shift; $10 for the late shift), although sizes are limited.
