RCMP asking public to avoid Lynn Valley Road due to ongoing police incident

Police are asking members of the public to avoid Lynn Valley Road in North Vancouver due to an ongoing incident.

According to a Tweet from the North Vancouver RCMP, the incident is unfolding between Highway 1 and William Avenue, near the on-ramp to the highway.

Police officers, a crisis negotiator, and emergency crews are at the scene “in response to a call of a man in a residence with a gun.”

“Efforts are being made to bring a peaceful resolution to the situation,” read the Tweet.

In the meantime, members of the public are asked to avoid the area, with a number of transit detours in place.
