New no tip, living wage cafe to open in Vancouver this weekend

A specialty micro-roastery is preparing to open its first cafe space — and it will be operating under a no-tip, living wage model.
Noct. Coffee first started as an online shop offering specialty drops of its roasts. Now the roastery is preparing to open its first brick-and-mortar spot.
“I started Noct. as a specialty micro-roastery, and I had a dream of creating a space where we could share our passion for coffee and for people to experience what Noct. stands for. We want to become a coffee company that focuses on care from the selection of our green, to our profiles, to how we brew it,” shared the owner on Instagram.
Noct. also shared that it aims to offer a space for folks to slow down, stay a while, and feel at home, offering a “real third space for the neighbourhood.”
“We’ll also be crafting up some complex signature drinks that you’d find at a speakeasy bar, but they’ll all be zero proof, a.k.a. non-alcoholic! I’ve been hard at work really perfecting our initial signature drink launch menu, and we’re excited to share it with y’all soon,” added the cafe.

Additionally, the space will be split into two different zones. One will be the “re-connect zone” where the cafe will encourage conversation and connection, while the other “re-imagine zone” will be for folks studying, working, or “building your dreams one coffee at a time.”
“We want everyone to feel welcomed to spend time at Noct, but we also want to encourage using the space in a diverse way as well,” said Noct.
Located at 4807 Main St., Vancouver, Noct. is taking over the former home of Matchstick’s, which announced the closure of all of its locations earlier this year.

“Come by for some amazing coffee, drinks, pastries and overall vibes! Come hang out and just have a good time,” added the cafe.
