The New Westminster Friday night festival is back, and it’s bringing six weeks of free food, music, and community fun to the city this summer.
The city’s beloved free Friday night festival returns to Front Street Mews starting July 11, running every Friday through July 25, and again from Aug. 8 to 22.
Fridays on Front brings together local food trucks, live entertainment, artisan vendors, and community partners for six weeks of family-friendly fun.
The 2025 season runs from 6 to 10 p.m., a slight time shift from last year’s 5 to 9 p.m. window.
This year’s series will be hosted by Justin Abit, a celebrated drag performer known for their joyful, high-energy stage presence.

Each Friday follows a rotating theme that highlights culture, nostalgia, and community.
Each night also has a cultural or fun hook. “Bollywood Night aligns with celebrating South Asian culture, fitting with tradition and local diversity. Sidequest New West taps into gaming communities and nostalgia,” Mitraa Nazirkar, volunteer coordinator for the Downtown New West BIA, told Daily Hive via email.

2025 Lineup:
- July 11: Deep Roots: Indigenous Night
- July 18: Bollywood Night
- July 25: Car-Free Retro Rewind
- August 8: Fiesta Latina Night
- August 15: New West Pride Takeover

According to Nazirkar, the event regularly draws between 2,000 and 5,000 attendees per night, with a different vendor and entertainment lineup each week.
They represent a diverse mix of cultural, family, and small business interests.
“Local artisan vendors, food trucks, and musicians are sourced via BIA coordination and follow rotating line-ups that best represent the nightly themes.”
“Community partners like Family Place support the kids’ zone, and Steel & Oak Brewing handles licensed drinks,” she added.

“It’s core to downtown’s summer identity, highlighting the many diverse communities that make up New West and supporting local arts and commerce,” said Nazirkar.
Getting there is easy via SkyTrain or bus, and the entire site is pedestrianized and accessible.
“The Mews is flat and pedestrianized, making the site wheelchair accessible. And it’s served by SkyTrain and multiple TransLink bus routes.”
Events run rain or shine, and weekly updates on vendors and entertainers will be posted to Instagram and FridaysOnFront.ca.
