Staff member at New Vista Care Home tests positive for coronavirus

Fraser Health confirmed Sunday that a staff member at New Vista Care Home in Burnaby has tested positive for coronavirus.

The outbreak only affects one unit in the building at the moment, and the sick staff member is isolating at home.

The health authority has restricted visitors at the home as well as resident movement within the facility. All staff and residents are being screened twice a day for symptoms, and Fraser Health says staffing levels will be maintained to ensure residents are cared for.

The home previously dealt with a coronavirus outbreak back in April that lasted until June 8. The facility was coronavirus-free for two months before the latest case was discovered.

New Vista’s COVID outbreak is over as of today. Thanks to Kim and Kelly from FHA (pictured here with the NVS T-shirts)…
