Izakaya Gon’s Denman
Izakaya Gon’s is comin’ in hot, so the West End should get prepped for a new addition to their Japanese foodie scene. The restaurant’s social platforms have stated May as the time they expect to open their doors.

Centro
Centro is a new eatery that is brought to us by the creators of recently shuttered Pronto Cafe, and it opened on April 11.

Hey, Dumplings!
This spot offers seven varieties of savoury dumplings at the moment, Pelmeni Poutine, Pesto, Vegan Beet Pesto, Spicy Ginger Scallion, Creamy Dill, Buffalo Hot Sauce, and Butter Chicken. Dessert selections include Berry Pelmini and homemade chocolate chip cookie ice cream bars.

There’s a new restaurant opening on Fraser Street, and it’s the definition of restaurant porn if you ask us. Escobar, a stunning new Latin-American influenced eatery, is prepping to officially open its doors for the first time on May 11.

The Compound
Downtown Vancouver’s newest cocktail bar, The Compound, is officially open. Located at 1026 Granville Street, this new bar and eatery replaced Glowbal’s The Fish Shack, which shuttered on March 24.

Uncle Tetsu’s Metrotown
It’s been one hell of a wait, but we’ve finally got an idea of when Japanese mega-chain Uncle Tetsu will be opening its first ever BC location. A member of the Uncle Tetsu team told Daily Hive that there will be three items up for order when Uncle Tetsu Metrotown opens the first week of May.

Havana
One of Vancouver’s most iconic Latin restaurants got a serious makeover, and now you’re invited to go see it for yourself. Havana, located at 1212 Commercial Drive, was recently purchased by the guys at Postmark Brewing (and Belgard Kitchen/Urban Winery) and the team followed through with their plans to make this East Van institution a revitalized slice of Cuban heaven.

Falconetti’s East Side Grill
Recently there has been speculation that Falconetti’s East Side Grill was closed for good, but the team at the popular spot told Daily Hive that they are simply closed for renovations. The owners are aiming to have the beloved East Vancouver haunt reopen in May, just in time for patio season.

Meat & Bread – Abbotsford
You can find Meat & Bread’s Abbotsford location just Field House Brewing at 2455 West Railway Street, where it’s set to open late May. This new space will serve as Meat & Bread’s Kitchen & Training Centre. It will be open five days a week (Wednesday to Sunday) and is part of the company’s head office.

Il Posto
South Delta’s newest Italian eatery is open for business. Located in Ladner Village at 4866 Delta Street, the restaurant is officially kicking off its soft launch, which means you can head in and get in on authentic Italian eats for dinner from 5 pm ’til late daily.

The Rumpus Room
Back in January, it came out that The Rumpus Room was reopening in a new location. This news came four years after the OG location (2689 Main Street) shuttered in 2014 Known for their comfort food and affordable drinks, this spot was an uber-popular hangout back in the day, so it’s safe to say we’re happy to write they’ve officially reopened in a new location.
