New app ranks Vancouver restaurants based on health inspection reports

It might not be something you think about often, but really, you never know what’s going on in the back of a restaurant.

Whether it’s a minor infraction or a critical one – some people want to know what’s going on behind the scenes where they are choosing to eat.

If you are one of those people, you’re going to love this new app. Tomati is a health inspection aggregator for restaurants and bars.

The app takes info from the Fraser Health Authority and Vancouver Coastal Health and cross-references those reports with peer reviews from Google, Zomato, and Yelp.

Each restaurant on the app starts with 100 points, from there, the eateries are docked a certain amount of points depending on the severity of the infraction determined by the local health authorities.

Tomati’s info goes back two years and links directly to the portals where the info was gathered.

The app is free and intuitive to show you ratings of establishments in your area, so you can see which local spots are stacking up.
