It looks like Vancouverites can’t get enough of their matcha.
Japanese mega-chain Nana’s Green Tea celebrated the opening of its first North American location today and the highly-anticipated franchise was greeted with a massive line.
Posted on their Instagram story, Nana’s Green Tea had a line of approximately 50 people spanning halfway down the street, just before their grand opening at 11 am.

Located at 2135 W 41st Avenue in Vancouver’s Kerrisdale neighbourhood, Nana’s Canadian flagship store has around 25 seats and a stellar menu of matcha treats and drinks for patrons to get into.
The green tea-centric eatery has matcha lattes, matcha and rice dumplings flour parfaits, a variety of homemade Japanese sweets, and savoury dishes like tuna and rice bowls.
Seasonal offerings will also be available once the establishment is in full swing.
Nana’s has a whopping 97 stores worldwide, and only 16 of those are located outside of Japan, so Vancouver should count itself lucky.
