Nam Dae Moon set to open first BC location in Richmond
We have more news when it comes to BC firsts for food and beverage chains: Nam Dae Moon is set to soft open its first location in the province this weekend.
The popular international rice cake chain was founded in China in 2011, and it will be opening its first BC location in Richmond’s Continental Plaza this weekend on Saturday, April 24.
Nam Dae Moon currently operates its three other Canadian shops in Toronto.

Known for its glutinous tteok (Korean rice cakes) steamed to chewy perfection, Nam Dae Moon’s cakes are always steamed in-house and are also low in sugar.
Popular flavours include the Red Bean Glutinous Rice Cake, the Sesame Glutinous Rice Cake, and the Osmanthus Rice Cake.
“Since everything is hand-made, we can only produce a limited quantity every day for the best quality consistency,” says the brand’s founder and owner, George Xu.
Patrons who head to the new 2132 – 3779 Sexsmith Road sweet spot can also expect handmade premium daifuku, aka mochi pastries filled with fresh fruit like mango, banana, strawberry, and durian.
After the Richmond location is open, this brand plans to open three more BC shops this year. We’ll keep you posted on those details as they come.
