28 movies and TV shows filming in Vancouver this September
Few things are cooler than walking down the street of Vancouver and suddenly realizing that a new movie or the next installment of your favourite TV show is actually live and on location. Bright lights, cameras rolling, celebrity sightings, and directors yelling action!
Here are 28 movies and TV shows filming in Vancouver this September.

Sonic The Hedgehog
Starring Jim Carrey and James Marsden, Sonic The Hedgehog is a new movie filming in Vancouver through to October. The feature film is an adaption of the video game about a speedy hedgehog named Sonic, and Carrey will be playing the movie’s antagonist Dr. Ivo “Eggman” Robotnik.
Nobody
Being produced by and starring Better Call Saul star Bob Odenkirk, Nobody will be on location in Vancouver this September. This new action thriller is said to be about an ordinary man who comes to the aid of a woman being harassed by thugs. When one ends up in the hospital, he later learns that he is the brother of a drug kingpin who is now desperately seeking revenge.
The Kaslan Project
Going by its working title of The Kaslan Project, this new feature film will be filming in town all the way until the end of October. While there haven’t been many details on the plotline or casting just yet, the movie is said to be a remake of the 1988 horror movie Child’s Play.
Good Boys
Good Boys wraps up production in Vancouver the first week of September. Starring child actor Jacob Tremblay and being produced by Seth Rogen, the new movie will follow a group of young boys who ditch school one day and must live through the consequences.
Wu Assassins – Season 1
Wu Assassins will set up production in Vancouver this month to film for its first season. This Netflix martial arts drama series stars stuntman and martial artist Iko Uwais, along with Katheryn Winnick, Lewis Tan, and Tommy Flanagan among others.
The Man in the High Castle – Season 4
The Man in the High Castle returns to Vancouver this September to film its fourth season. Based upon the 1962 novel by Philip K Dick, the series is set in an alternate history where the Axis powers have won World War II dividing the United States.
See – Season 1
See will be filming in Vancouver this month for its first season. While there isn’t a lot of details surrounding the plot, the sci-fi series will star Jason Momoa as the lead role and is said to be set far into the future.
The Detour – Season 4
Renewed for a fourth season by TBS, The Detour will be on location in the city through to November. The series follows the lives of the dysfunctional Parker family as they travel on a family road trip.
Charmed – Season 1
The CW’s Charmed will be on location filming for its first season through to December. Starring Sarah Jeffery, Melonie Diaz and Madeleine Mantock, the series is about three sisters who discover after their mother passes away that they are actually very powerful witches.
Snowpiercer – Season 1
Starring Jennifer Connelly and Daveed Diggs, Snowpiercer will be on location in Vancouver this September all the way to December to film for its first season. The new series will be based around the French graphic novel ‘Le Transperceneige’ and tells the story of the last survivors left on earth who board a train called “The Snowpiercer.”
Deadly Class – Season 1
Deadly Class will be filming in town this September filming for its first season. Based on the comic book of the same name, this series revolves around a teen who gets recruited into a high school for assassins.
The 100 – Season 6
The 100 is back in Vancouver to film its sixth season this September and will continue into next year. The series centers around a group of post-apocalypse survivors that were living on a space station, and send down a group of juvenile prisoners to figure out if life can still exist on planet earth.
Cosmos: Possible Worlds – Season 2
Cosmos: Possible Worlds will be filming in town throughout September for its newest season. Picking up where season one Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey left off, Family Guy’s Seth MacFarlane will also be back as an executive producer for the new season.
Lost in Space – Season 2
Lost in Space will be on location in Vancouver through to January 2019. The series a remake of the 1960s sci-fi show of the same name, which featured the Robinson family trying to survive in space when their ship navigates off course. Molly Parker, who is better known as the ruthless Jackie Sharp on House of Cards, stars in the remake alongside Toby Stephens.
Riverdale – Season 3
The gang is back in town! Netflix’s Riverdale returns to Metro Vancouver to film its third season of the hit show. Based on the Archie Comics, the show will be on location all the way to April 2019.
A Million Little Things – Season 1
A Million Little Things will begin filming in Vancouver through to December. Starring Ron Livingston, this new show follows a group of tight-knit friends who come to realize what truly matters in life after one of them suddenly passes away.
Another Life – Season 1
Another Life is a new series filming in Vancouver this September through to November. This new Netflix sci-fi series stars Katee Sackoff as main character Niko who leads a mission into space to study an alien artifact, when suddenly during the investigation things go very wrong.
iZombie – Season 5
iZombie returns to Vancouver to film its fifth season through to January 2019. The show is an adaptation of the comic books with the same name, and the series follows the life of Liv Moore, played by Rose McIver, who has been changed into a zombie and must satisfy her hunger to stay sane.
Arrow – Season 7
Arrow will be in Vancouver this September to shoot the seventh season of the show starring Stephen Amell. Spoiler alert – after last season ended with Oliver sharing his secret identity with the world and being thrown in prison, its safe to say that season seven will have fans on the edge of their seats.
Legends of Tomorrow – Season 4
Legends of Tomorrow is filming its fourth season in Vancouver through to January 2019. The series centers around a group of heroes and villains who work together to help prevent an apocalypse from happening on earth and destroying all time. The new season will add a few new characters, along with an emphasis on magic and demons.
The Flash – Season 5
Back for its fifth season, The Flash will be on location in Vancouver until April 2019. Starring Grant Gustin as main character Barry Allen, the new season’s official air date will be October 9, 2018.
Supergirl – Season 4
Supergirl is back to save the day. Season 4 of the hit series Supergirl will be filming in Vancouver this September and will continue into April 2019.
Supernatural – Season 14
Back for its 14th season, Supernatural will be filming in Metro Vancouver starring Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles. Known as The CW’s longest-running show in history, the new season will be the shortest one yet with only 20 episodes.
Siren – Season 2
Siren is on location in Vancouver this September through to March 2019 to film the next installment of this dark drama series. The show was recently renewed for a second season after scoring some seriously high ratings from fans.
When Calls the Heart – Season 6
Hallmark’s When Calls the Heart is filming in Vancouver until the end of October for its sixth season. The series follows teacher Elizabeth Thatcher who moves to a small coal-mining town and must learn to adjust to an entirely different lifestyle.
The Good Doctor – Season 2
The Good Doctor will be on location in Vancouver this September for another season of the hit show. Starring Freddie Highmore as main character Shaun Murphy, the show revolves around an autistic surgeon who thinks outside the box and is recruited to work at a prestigious hospital.
The Magicians – Season 4
The Magicians will be on location in the city through to November. Based upon the novel by Lev Grossman, the show revolves around Quentin Coldwater who enrolls at Brakebills University to study as a magician.
Chilling Adventures of Sabrina – Season 1
Sabrina the Teenage Witch is getting a revamp, and it’s decidedly not kid-friendly. An adaptation of the comic book series, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is filming in Vancouver this month and is expected to be in town all the way until December. The Netflix series stars Kiernan Shipka as main character Sabrina Spellman, along with costars Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Michelle Gomez, Lucy Davis, Miranda Otto and Richard Coyle.
