Morning delays on Expo and Millennium Lines into Downtown Vancouver

Dec 19 2017, 7:23 pm

UPDATE (at 11 a.m.): The switch at Waterfront Station has been fixed, normal service has resumed.

There are currently delays for those who are traveling on the Expo and Millennium Line into Downtown Vancouver.

The delay is due to a switch issue at Waterfront Station, causing delays of about 10 to 15 minutes as only one platform at the station is being used.

Those most affected are traveling westbound into the downtown core – service is particularly slower beginning from Commercial-Broadway Station. There is no ETA for when the problem will be resolved, but it is expected to continue through the morning rush hour. The problem first arose just before 7:00 a.m.

While the issue is disruptive systemwide, trains are still operating.

Yesterday, TransLink announced it will offer a Free Transit Day on August 4 to compensate for the train service shutdowns on Thursday and Monday.
