An award-winning Metro Vancouver brewery has announced that it will soon close for good before the end of the month, joining the growing list of restaurant closures in the region.

Moody Ales & Co. posted the news to its followers on Thursday, Dec. 4, stating that “this was not an easy decision.”

“We want to extend our deepest thanks to everyone who has supported us, gathered with us, and enjoyed our beers over the years.”

The Port Moody establishment is part of the popular Brewer’s Row on Murray Street, and has been serving the community since Fall 2014.

Moody Ales & Co.’s last day of operation is slated for Sunday, Dec. 14.

The brewery’s tasting room poured its lineup of beers like Rocky Point Lager and West Coast IPA, and also had a menu of hot food like nachos, tacos, and rice bowls.

Located at 2601 Murray St., this spot hosted trivia nights, live comedy, and music performances over the past decade.

It was also a destination for dog lovers, with a spacious patio for pups to relax on and even pup flights with treats and bone broth.

“To our incredible staff, our community, and all of you who have shared a pint with us along the way, we are truly grateful for every visit, every conversation, and every moment spent together,” said Moody Ales on Facebook and Instagram.

Fans on social media shared their sadness over the imminent closure.

“This breaks my heart,” said one supporter. “Moody Ales is the best place to go with the dogs. We will miss you.”

“This is so sad,” added another. “My husband and I had our first date here, took some of our engagement photos here, bring our friends here or hang on the patio with our dog.

“You have the best beer, food and atmosphere on the row. Thank you for being a Port Moody staple for so many years.”

While the brewery may be closing its doors, it clarified that its beers will still be provided to liquor stores, pubs, and restaurants that carry its products.

“Thank you for being part of the Moody Ales & Co. story. It has meant more to us than we can say.”
