Police seek public assistance to locate missing Cypress Mountain hikers

West Vancouver Police are seeking the public’s assistance to confirm the well being of two people possibly lost on Cypress Mountain.

The police were were contacted late on Christmas evening when a vehicle was found abandoned by staff in a parking area at Cypress after the mountain closed for the night.

An investigation was undertaken to find anyone associated to the vehicle and confirm their well being.

The police have been unable to contact the registered owner of the vehicle, who is named as 43-year-old Roy Tin Hou Lee from Vancouver.

Mr Lee is an avid hiker and West Vancouver Police has been able to confirm that he was at the mountain on Sunday with 64-year-old Chun Sek Lam, also of Vancouver.

Efforts to locate or contact both people have been unsuccessful so far.

North Shore Rescue is currently assisting the police in their investigation and will conduct possible search operations on Boxing Day.

Anyone with information that could assist in locating Roy Tin Hou Lee or Chun Sek Lam is asked to contact West Vancouver Police at 604-925-7300.
