
Shoppers at Burnaby’s Metropolis at Metrotown had their evening cut short on Monday, after an evacuation took place in light of what appeared to be a gas leak.
#Metrotown‘s Superstore and at least part of the mall has been shut down early this evening. People inside tell me they were told to get out by firefighters because of a possible gas leak.

FortisBC was called into investigate and confirmed in a tweet that the incident was indeed a gas leak. .

There were no reported medical incidents as a result of the situation, and three hours later, Fortis gave everyone the all-clear.

The store was expected to be open for regular shopping hours on Tuesday.
