Don’t be fooled by the 25°C forecast; humidex levels are making parts of Metro Vancouver feel more like 36°C today.
According to the latest Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) forecast, the region will see mainly sunny skies with highs of 25°C near the water and up to 31°C inland.
But with humidity factored in, that “feels-like” temperature climbs steeply, especially away from the coast.

“It’s not really temperature, per se, but it’s more of how it might feel,” ECCC meteorologist Bobby Sekhon told Daily Hive in a previous interview.
“Of course, that takes into account the temperature and the amount of moisture in the air,” he explained, referring to how the humidex works.
Winds from the west are expected to pick up this morning, gusting up to 40 km/h, offering some relief.
Still, the UV index is 8, which is considered very high, so sunscreen, shade, and hydration are key.
Even the City of Vancouver is reminding folks to stay hydrated:
Even in mild heat, staying #hydrated is import!
We have many water fountains with bottle fillers throughout #Vancouver.

If you’re spending time outdoors today, seek out shade, wear a hat, and take breaks from direct sun exposure, especially during peak afternoon hours.
The BC SPCA is also reminding folks to keep animals out of hot vehicles.
People underestimate how rapidly a vehicle can heat up to dangerous levels, putting animals at risk of fatal consequences,” said Eileen Drever, senior officer, protection and stakeholder relations for the BC SPCA, in a previous release.
“We also tend to miscalculate how long we’ll be away from our cars. We think we’re just running into the store for one item, but the line ups are long, we stop to chat with an acquaintance, and five minutes turns into half an hour or more while your pet suffers in the heat.”
Stay safe and cook out there!
