Vancouver Canucks legend Ryan Kesler makes hilarious cameo at MLB game

There was no guessing as to who former Vancouver Canucks forward Ryan Kesler was cheering for at Comerica Park in Detroit last night.

Kesler was in attendance at the outing between the Detroit Tigers and the visiting Seattle Mariners, and was able to do something fans dream about; catch a home run ball. The issue, however, was that it was a grand slam off the bat of Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh, which extended Seattle’s lead to 12-3.

Rather than hold onto the ball as a keepsake, Kesler made his allegiance clear, as he immediately tossed it back onto the field with absolutely zero hesitation.

Tossing the road team’s home run balls back onto the field has been a long-lasting tradition in baseball, though some fans are simply too excited by their new souvenir to do so. Kesler, however, didn’t seem to give it a second thought.

It’s no real surprise to see that Kesler is a Tigers fan, as he was born in Livonia, Michigan, which is less than a 30-minute drive from Detroit. Unfortunately, he watched his team fall by a 12-3 final last night, though it isn’t all bad, as they lead the AL Central with a 59-36 record.
