After a stormy, wet weekend, Metro Vancouver will finally experience higher temperatures, expected to be the warmest of the year so far.
According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), Wednesday is expected to reach a high of 16°C, “except 19°C inland.”
ECCC meteorologist Derek Lee confirmed with Daily Hive that if inland temperatures hit the 19°C mark, Wednesday will be the warmest day of the year so far.

“I think the highest I’ve seen so far this year was Feb. 28 [at] 17.3°C in Pitt Meadows,” stated Lee.
However, tomorrow’s warmer conditions will come along with some rain, noted Lee.
“It looks like some precipitation is coming, most likely in the afternoon and into the overnight period,” he said, adding that there is a risk of thunderstorms as well.
A mix of sun and cloud is expected earlier in the day.
Unfortunately, the warm conditions won’t last long, as Lee pointed out that the extended forecast shows a return to “seasonal temperatures” with highs of 10°C or 11°C.
“There’s a lot more cloud cover coming back in… and no more warm air pumping in from the tropics, so that’s why we’re going back to a more seasonal spring trend,” he said.
