Metro Vancouver travel agency has its licence cancelled

Consumer Protection BC (CPBC) is warning customers about a Metro Vancouver travel agency which recently had its licence cancelled by a regulator.

According to CPBC, Vegas Vacations had its licence cancelled on Jan. 9, 2026, because it had insufficient capital to operate a travel service business.

CPBC warns customers of the Richmond-based travel agency to confirm their reservations.

Vegas Vacations is located at 5300 No. 3 Rd. in Richmond in Landsdowne Centre, but the travel agency doesn’t necessarily have glowing reviews on Google (2.8/5).

One customer who left a review alleged that they didn’t receive official booking confirmation for a trip and that they were overcharged by around $2,000.

“We understand the uncertainty Vegas Vacation customers are feeling right now,” says Louise Hartland, director of public relations for CPBC, in a statement.

“We encourage anyone who booked travel through Vegas Vacations to reach out to the airline, hotel, and any other travel provider they believe their travel was booked with to confirm their reservations.”

If you can’t confirm your travel, folks are being urged to visit the CPBC website and to follow the steps to open a Travel Assurance Fund claim.

“The Travel Assurance Fund is a possible source of compensation for anyone who booked with a licensed BC travel agent or wholesaler and did not receive their travel services,” CPBC adds.

According to the notice of licence cancellation, Vegas Vacations was suspended on Dec. 23, 2025, for “failure to provide the required annual financial statement to the Director for the years 2024 and 2025.”

The public notice of the licence cancellation reads, “Vegas Vacations is no longer licensed to sell or provide travel services to the public.”

It adds, “This decision is made under section 146 and section 147 of the Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act.”
