Metro Vancouver's newest water park to open on Canada Day long weekend (PHOTOS)
Metro Vancouver’s newest water park is nearing completion and is scheduled to open to the public on the Canada Day long weekend.
Credit Union Community Centre in Aldergrove will feature an extensive outdoor swimming area, complete with water slides, a 50-person hot tub, a six-lane pool, a lazy river, and a wave pool complete with a large movie screen for a pool-side flick.
The pools will be located directly outside a 500+ seat arena, which boasts an NHL-sized rink and an indoor running track. The building is currently under construction as well.
All of the swimming amenities are located outdoors, though the six-lane pool, leisure pool, and hot tub are all covered by a wood canopy, allowing them to operate into the fall and winter months.
The wave pool, slides, and pool areas are nearing completion, according to recent posts on social media.

According to a release from the Township of Langley, the pool will be heated in part by solar panels and through excess energy produced from cooling the neighbouring arena’s ice.
“We continue to watch construction progress, and over the next several months the ACUCC will really begin to take shape,” said Township of Langley Mayor Jack Froese, in the release.
“We will have a lot to celebrate when it opens to the public on the Canada Day long weekend.”
