If you’re sick of the blazing hot summer weather that’s been hitting Vancouver, you’ll need to bear it for at least a few more days.
The forecast shows a pretty steady average of highs of around 25°C for the week, but things have felt much hotter than that. For today, Monday, Aug. 25, the forecast shows a high of 24°C or 30°C inland.
Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) says that, according to the humidex values, things will feel more like 29°C or 35°C inland later today.
It’ll be much of the same tomorrow. ECCC forecasts a high of 24°C on Tuesday or 29°C inland. The humidex is expected to hit 30°C or 34°C inland.
Forecasted overnight lows may provide some hints as to when the city will see a reprieve from the heat.

Overnight lows on Tuesday and Wednesday don’t offer much in the way of relief from the heat. On Tuesday, ECCC forecasts an overnight low of 19°C and a slightly warmer 20°C for Wednesday night. It’ll be marginally cooler overnight on Thursday and Friday.

ECCC
According to ECCC data, the weather is way above seasonal highs for this time of year, which usually hover around 21°C. This string of hot weather follows a pretty moist period during the middle of August, when Vancouver was hit with atmospheric river-like conditions.
Yesterday, several heat records were broken across the province, including some places close to home. Whistler’s new high for Aug. 24 is 35.1°C. West Vancouver also tied a record previously set in 2022, reaching a high of 29.3°C.
The hottest place in B.C. yesterday was Lytton, which saw a staggering high of 40.3°C, beating an old Aug. 24 record set in 1958 when the high was 38.3°C.

Matt Loney with ECCC told Daily Hive that the heat could stay with us as late as next Monday, but there’s also potential for it to taper off by Friday.
