Civic jobs pay very well, and right now is a great time to look if you’re seeking employment, as most cities in Metro Vancouver are hiring for lucrative roles.

The great thing about some positions that need to be filled is that they don’t require much experience or education other than high school graduation. Some do require post-secondary courses as supplementary background.

These are some of the highest-paying civic jobs in Metro Vancouver.

The City of New Westminster is hiring for several positions. New West is seeking a committee clerk who can earn up to $37.45 an hour and receive a comprehensive benefits package. It’s an administrative role in the legislative services department, and the position only requires Grade 12 completion, supplemented by related experience, which could include post-secondary courses in local government, business, or legal admin.

Another job posting for the director of community services pays even more, and the successful applicant would earn up to a whopping $222,141 per year. This position requires a bit more education, ideally a graduate degree in public administration, community development, or a related discipline. Some experience in administrative leadership is also beneficial.

If you have experience as a tow truck driver, New West is hiring for a position that pays up to $35.91 per hour plus 12% in lieu of benefits.

New West also has a general application for folks who want to submit resumes for future consideration.
