Nov 23 2020, 5:00 pm

McDonald’s Canada has announced that an employee at a Richmond restaurant has tested positive for COVID-19.

A staff member working at the McDonald’s located at 7120 #3 Road in Richmond reported positive for the virus.

“Out of an abundance of caution, the decision was made to immediately shut down the restaurant for a thorough cleaning and sanitization by a certified third party,” reads an emailed statement from McDonald’s Canada.

The employee’s last shift was on November 20, although the exact time is unspecified.

The location has since reopened following the thorough cleaning and sanitization.

All crew members who may have been in close contact with the employee have been asked to self-quarantine until further information is available.

Last week, McDonald’s Canada announced another temporary closure of a restaurant in Richmond located at 8191 Alderbridge Way.
