As BC continues with Phase 2 of its Restart Plan, another major Metro Vancouver shopping destination has announced its reopening.

McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Vancouver Airport opened to the public on May 19, under reduced hours from 10 am to 6 pm.

“As a local partner for many businesses and a major employer of the region, we are happy to be able to support our local community,” said the mall on its website.

“By reopening, we hope to bring back some stability to all the wonderful people connected to the centre.”

The outlet mall is following guidelines from BC’s health authorities and recommends shoppers wash hands frequently, use hand sanitizer, and practice safe physical distancing. McArthurGlen management is recommending staff and shoppers wear a face mask or covering.

McArthurGlen Designer Outlet will be giving shoppers an opportunity to give back to the community this weekend by hosting a no-contact food drive with Richmond FC.

Donations will be welcome from May 23 to 24 from 11 am to 4 pm with all food going to the Richmond Food Bank Society. The organization is currently in need of peanut butter, soup, canned meat and fish, rice, pasta, cereal, canned vegetables, tomato sauce, and canned fruit, as well as baby food and formula, unopened toiletries, personal hygiene items, and feminine hygiene products.

Shoppers can drop off their donations via a non-contact loading zone at the main entrance of the mall near Guest Services. All items will be sanitized before being dropped off to the food bank.

For more updates on reopened stores, check the mall’s website.
